Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index registers a drop of 2.19%

Nifty IT index closed down 2.19% at 31879.6 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tech Mahindra Ltd fell 4.59%, Mphasis Ltd shed 3.41% and LTIMindtree Ltd slipped 3.16%. The Nifty IT index has increased 18.00% over last one year compared to the 15.81% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index has slid 1.91% and Nifty MNC index has dropped 1.79% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.98% to close at 19523.55 while the SENSEX has declined 0.92% to close at 65508.32 today.
